The audience for Super Bowl LVIII was so large that it approached the all-time most watched television broadcast set in 1969, when an estimated 125 to 150 million viewers watched the Apollo 11 moon landing. Thomas did not respond to ProPublica’s detailed list of questions for its report, nor did Novelly. None of the Thomas benefactors highlighted in the new report appear to have had direct business in front of the Supreme Court, ProPublica said. Thomas intends to amend his financial disclosure forms, a source close to the justice previously told CNN, to at least reflect Crow’s 2014 purchase of Thomas’ mother’s home.

CNN —Wearing a helmet and seemingly in good spirits, Damar Hamlin participated in full practice with the Buffalo Bills for the first time since his cardiac arrest in January. Hamlin (left) participates in practice on June 6. On the sideline, Hamlin threw his helmet to the ground in frustration and trainers looked at his right shoulder/arm area. CPR was performed on Hamlin when he lost his pulse and needed to be revived through resuscitation and defibrillation. The 25-year-old was cleared to resume football activities last month and said he has been planning to make a comeback to the NFL.

The NFL Players Association, National Basketball Players Association, National Hockey League Players' Association, MLB Players Association, MLS Players Association and Women's National Basketball Players Association will work together to raise awareness about the cause and invest resources to improve mental health for the pro athlete community. This is the first time the sports organizations have come together to promote mental health. The high stakes, busy lifestyles and pressures of professional sports have caused many athletes to reveal their own mental health struggles in recent years. As athletes from all levels have expressed their struggles, many of the leagues realized that mental health needs to be as much of a priority as physical health is. The sports leagues will also highlight inspirational stories from athletes and the various mental health efforts they are leading.

According to season-ending data compiled by the NFL, there were a total of 149 concussions suffered over 271 regular season games, representing a significant increase over 2021. Medical teams performed an average of 1.6 evaluations per game last season, while medical timeouts called by spotters and officials nearly doubled. "We are doing more evaluations than ever and we did change the protocol, becoming more conservative, and we had more medical timeouts and continue to emphasis player self report." While concussions were up the number of overall injuries was down 5.6%. Despite signs of a concussion, the Miami quarterback was allowed to return to the game after passing the league mandated protocol.

☆ The NFL Sunday Ticket/YouTube deal is good for both the league and Alphabet

The agreement is a strong one for both the league and Alphabet (GOOGL), the parent company of Google and a Club holding. It's not hard to see why the National Football League would want to distribute games with such an established streaming player like YouTube. Amazon (AMZN) already has Thursday Night Football , while Apple (AAPL) previously secured the rights to Major League Baseball and Major League Soccer games. What's good for ad buyers is good for Alphabet as it will pull more advertising dollars into the company's various offerings. As noted during Thursday's "Morning Meeting" for Club members, monetization opportunities are not exactly clear beyond additional advertising and YouTube subscription revenues.
